Isaiah 11:1 ----- The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— Isaiah 11:2 ----- and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; Isaiah 11:3 ----- but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4 ----- Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. Isaiah 11:5 ----- The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. Isaiah 11:6 ----- The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. Isaiah 11:7 ----- The infant will play near the cobra’s den, the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. Isaiah 11:8 ----- They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:9 ----- In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. Isaiah 11:10 ----- Sermon Stand as a Signal Pastor Kenny Lee ----- Holy Communion ----- The Lord's Prayer ----- Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. ----- And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. ----- Hymn of Invitation O Little Town of Bethlehem - Page 230 Please stand as We Sing ----- O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie; above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light; the hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight. ----- For Christ is born of Mary and gathered all above, while mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wondering love. O morning stars together, proclaim the holy birth, and praises sing to God the King, and peace to men on earth! ----- How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given; so God imparts to human hearts the blessings of his heaven. No ear may hear his coming, but in this world of sin, where meek souls will receive him, still, the dear Christ enters in. ----- O holy Child of Bethlehem, descend on us, we pray; cast out our sin, and enter in, be born in us today. We hear the Christmas angels; the great glad tidings tell; O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Emmanuel! ----- Benediction ----- Closing Response Shalom to You - Page 666 Please stand as We Sing ----- Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now. With every step, I take, let this be my solemn vow: to take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me. ----- Thank you for worshiping with us at the Marvell United Methodist Church Please join us each Sunday morning -----
